Whatever else you think of Arnold Schwarzenegger, he's certainly charismatic. He rose to power in Sacramento largely on the promise that he's one of us, not one of those politicians. Much was made of his claim that he wouldn't be beholden to special interests, because he had enough money of his own.
What a difference a few years make.
Back then,
he said:
Here's how it works: money comes in, favors go out. The people lose. We need to send a message: game over.
Fast forward to today - he's accepted millions of dollars from those special interests, including Prop 89 opponent, ChevronTexaco.
Fortunately, the California Nurses aren't going to let voters forget what Arnold said to get elected. They've used his words in their latest ad. If he's not going to endorse Prop 89, the California Clean Money and Fair Elections Act, then using his words is the next best thing. If it was good enough for Arnold then, it should be good enough for Arnold now.
